We're excited to announce Sheets2Mailchimp v2 — a major update to the add-on that makes syncing Google Sheets with Mailchimp faster, smarter, and more reliable than ever.
Here's everything that's new in this release.
Redesigned Sidebar Interface
The most visible change is a completely redesigned sidebar. We rebuilt it from the ground up with a focus on clarity and speed:
- Cleaner layout — Every action is now easier to find and understand.
- Progress indicators — See real-time sync progress with subscriber counts.
- Inline error messages — When something goes wrong, you'll know exactly what to fix.
The new interface works great on both desktop and laptop screens, with responsive elements that adapt to your sidebar width.
Faster Sync Engine
Under the hood, we've optimized the sync engine to process subscribers significantly faster. Key improvements include:
- Batch processing — Subscribers are now sent in optimized batches, reducing API calls and improving throughput.
- Parallel tag operations — Tags are applied concurrently, cutting sync time for tagged subscribers.
- Smart conflict resolution — When a subscriber exists in both Sheets and Mailchimp, the add-on intelligently merges data instead of overwriting.
For Pro and Enterprise users, these improvements mean you can sync thousands of subscribers in minutes instead of waiting around.
Smart Column Auto-Detection
One of the most requested features: Sheets2Mailchimp now automatically detects your column headers and maps them to Mailchimp fields. It works with:
- English — Email, First Name, Last Name, Phone, Tags, Status
- Spanish — correo, nombre, apellido, teléfono, etiquetas, estado
- Common variations — e-mail, fname, lname, mobile, labels
No more manual mapping for every new sheet. Just open the sidebar and start syncing.
Statistics Dashboard
The new Statistics panel gives you a real-time overview of your sync activity:
- Syncs today — How many syncs you've run in the current day.
- Subscribers processed — Total contacts imported or exported.
- Plan usage — Visual bar showing how much of your daily limit you've used.
- Last sync status — Quick indicator showing success, partial, or error.
This makes it easy to monitor your usage and know when you're approaching plan limits.
Improved Logs
The Logs tab has been enhanced with:
- Timestamps for every operation.
- Action types — Clearly labeled as Import, Export, or Update.
- Error details — Specific reasons when a subscriber fails (e.g., invalid email, merge field mismatch).
- Summary counts — Total processed, successful, and failed at the end of each sync.
New Plans and Pricing
We've restructured our pricing to better match how teams use Sheets2Mailchimp:
- Starter ($6/month) — Perfect for individual creators and small newsletters. 100 syncs/day, up to 1,000 subscribers.
- Pro ($19/month) — For marketers and growing teams. 1,000 syncs/day, up to 50,000 subscribers.
- Enterprise ($29/month) — For agencies and high-volume lists. 10,000 syncs/day, 1M+ subscribers.
